3 things you can do right Now to gain clarity
The first week of August felt like a drag to me. I visited Nola for my birthday and came back and jumped right into work. Except, my brain was still on vacation, so it was extremely difficult playing catch up.
By Thursday I was so ready to get things going and I needed to get outta my funk. In case you do not know, I have a knack for problem-solving. It's something that comes naturally to me which is why I offer a brainstorming/clarity session. I decided to pump myself with a dose of my medicine and I seem to have de-cluttered my mind.
Today, I am going to share 3 ways you can have a mini-clarity session where you are if you are experiencing a "mind funk" (is that a thing?)
1. Take a Walk or go running: There is something about exercise that makes you feel lighter. Taking long walks allow you to have time alone with yourself. Your thoughts become clearer to you and you are able to filter through and pay close attention to what's most important to you.
2. Relax + Meditate: I took 3 minutes laid back flat on the floor, closed my eyes and shut everything out. I wanted to direct my thoughts so it doesn't wander away so I focused on where I wanted to see myself in the future and what the bible says about me. for 3 minutes it felt like I was in a trance. When I slowly woke myself up I was clear about what direction I wanted to go and had to figure out how to get there.
3. Journal: I just recently picked this up and it has helped me a lot with mapping out step by step actions that I needed to take to achieve my goal.
A lot of times there seems to be so much going on in our lives all at ones. Don't ever take self-care for granted. I usually take Sunday to refocus myself and plan for the new week but I was traveling most of Sunday which then got me out of whack. You can also use these techniques if you are struggling with something related to your business or personal problems.
Bonus: Hire a professional. Sometimes you need someone to look at the situation from the outside that way they are able to give you insights and solutions different from your point of view. Which is always useful.
Together you can both think about what you want the end result to be, then create a plan that will take you to that end result.
