How did you stumble upon your AWESOME path? I have a fashion blog with my best friend called Virtuous Virgos and I really enjoyed shooting the fashion looks and product shots. So I continued learning more and more about photography.
Who inspired you into taking this path? My friends did as they saw how happy it made me and that I had a lot of fun with it as well. My skills continued to grow.
Who was the first person who believed in you? Give us names, dates, and details, This could be your first customer, your first teacher, or the first person who showed you that you could do this: One of my very first customers who always encouraged me was Mrs. Davis. One of the first events she hired me for was for her father's birthday party in 2017 I believe. It was so fun and encouraging to me that she allowed me into this special moment with her family. It was a very big event and family members who had not seen each other in years attended, I was so happy to be a part of such a special moment.
What was the moment you knew you could be successful at your path? I knew this could be a successful path when I continued to get the same clients booking me again for multiple events. It would start off as pictures at a birthday party, family photos, and business head-shots.
How do you define success for the path that you're on right now? I define success as going beyond expectations. At times I have worked with people who say that have had bad experiences with photographers/videographers. So my goal is to give everyone a great, fun, and painless experience.
What’s been the most important skill you've developed ever since you took the entrepreneurial route? The most important skill I have developed so far is learning to use systems to help me coordinate my workflow and client leads. I am so thankful for my CRM system and using apps.
What’s been the greatest challenge on your path? The biggest challenge on my path has been keeping things simple. At times I have visions and ideas and I want to execute them all! However, it best to keep things simple and not just run off with all of my ideas.
What’s been your greatest reward in the choices you've made to do this? Making people feel amazing and seeing their vision came to life. One of my most favorite moments was giving a couple a free session with my makeup artist and fellow member Octavia with her boutique (Soljour Boutique) for a giveaway this past Valentine's. They were so grateful and she said she had never felt so beautiful. Its moments like that brings me happiness.
What do you want to learn from the Fashionpreneurs Community and how has it impacted you? I learn about being accountable to your goals and dreams. I love our meetups and accountability meetings. I love the way we help each other out. It is truly a community. There are so many resources to be a better entrepreneur and connecting to businesses.
